The 2019 Ladbrokes Players Championship Finals is going to be running next weekend and with 64 players those being the best ones that have performed well in the 30 Players Championship events of 2019 taking part in it, it is going to be one darts tournament worth watching for sure.
However, there are of course going to be plenty of betting opportunities too, and for those of you that fancy trying to pick out the winner of that event and back on them nice and early, well to be frank you are not going to be offered generous odds on the most fancied player to win.
That is due to that player being Michael Van Gerwen who is in the form of his life currently, and that is reflected in the rather tiny odds of just 5/4 that most bookies are offering you on him to win this tournament, the next two players in the betting for reference are Rob Cross at 12/1 and Gerwyn Price at 14/1.
You may find some much more interesting betting opportunities and some much better odds on the individual matches betting opportunities that make up this tournament which is going to be in play next weekend and is being staged at the Butlins holiday centre in Minehead.
Individual Match Betting
You could spend house trying to work out just which players are going to win their respective day one matches however there are three players I do feel should won on day one and the first is Dimitri van den Bergh who is a 4/5 shot to beat Stephen Bunting in their match.
As for the Harry Ward v Darius Labanauskas match it is Labanauskas that I tip up to win that match and his odds of doing so are 1/2 and do also consider backing Jose De Sousa for he does face an easy task regarding beating his day one opponent that being James Richardson and De Sousa is the 2/5 favourite it win that match.
Players Worth Backing on the First Day
You could bag some decent odds on the much more fancied players to win their respective day one matches if you do shop around, and it shouldn’t prove to be too difficult for Glen Durrant at his odds of 2/5 to beat Scott Baker in their day one match.
I would also consider baking John Henderson at odds of 4/5 to come out on top and beat Ryan Joyce in their day one match as he has an outstanding chance of winning that match and the same can also be said of Max Hopp who is also being offered at odds of 4/5 to beat Jelle Klaasen.
A couple of other players that you should be backing on day one of this major darts tournament are Dave Chisnall who is the red-hot 1/5 favourite to beat Matthew Edgar and also back Ian White who at odds of 2/5 should win his match against Devon Petersen on day one of this event too.
