With €300,000 in prize money, of which a cool €140,000 goes to the winning owner, there is a lot of attention given to the Irish Greyhound Derby each year, and it is one of those major greyhound events that does attract plenty of top-class greyhounds.
This years running of that event started back in August of this year and as such as the heats have been run the number of greyhounds left in that competition have been reduced, but that does of course mean the odds attached to the last few greyhounds involved in it have also been dropping too.
Today, I want to take a look at the current state of the in-;play ante post betting market on this years running of the 2019 Irish Greyhound Derby, for there is no doubt in my mind that plenty of you out there will fancy betting on it.
As for just which bookies are offering decent odds on that event, well keep in mind that it is BoyleSports that are sponsoring it, however there is a lot to be said about the Coral betting site too who are famed for offering some above average odds on that event.
In fact, I will be quoting the odds being offered by Coral throughout this betting news story but make sure you act quickly if any of the following greyhound appeal to you to ensure you can secure the best odds available.
Current Favourite to Win
Whilst the betting markets are not what you could ever call awash with money right now with punters betting on the Irish Greyhound Derby, one greyhound that has been backed is Magical Bale who is the current 11/2 favourite to win the final race.
Coral are also paying out to four places on their each-way betting markets right now on this event and at one quarter of the win odds, and as such if you fancy backing greyhounds such as the second favourite that being Lenson Bocko at 6/1 then perhaps and each-way bet will be worth placing upon it.
Other Greyhounds Attracting Some Support
Many punters will leave it until the next race that makes up the Irish Greyhound Debry is run, and the number of greyhounds reduces even more before they are prepared to back one of the greyhounds left in the race.
Bur having said that the odds attached to those that do make it through to the next stage will be even lower, and as such if you want to back greyhounds such as Killmacdonagh then do so now to secure the 7/1 odds, as they will not be that high if that greyhound does make it through to the next stage.
There is also a lot to live about greyhounds such as Grangeview Ten and Lenson Blinder and as far as their current odds go, well they can both be backed at odds of 8/1 right now.
