American Football Conference

The 32 teams that play in the NFL are divided up into eight divisions, which are based on their locations, and each of them have four teams in them, they are also classified as being in one of two conferences too that being the National Football Conference and the American Football Conference, and below as the teams in the American Football Conference.

AFC East Division

Buffalo Bills – The Buffalo Bills playing in the East Divisions, and their stadium is based at Orchard Park, New York and is called the New Era Field, it was back in 1970 that they played their first season in the NFL having previously been in the AFL from 1960.

Miami Dolphins – It is over in Miami Gardens, Florida that the stadium for the Miami Dolphins is based, that stadium is known as the Hard Rock Stadium           and they have a history that can be traced back to 1966 when they joined the AFL and in 1970 they then joined the NFL.

New England Patriots – It was in 1970 that the New England Patriots played their very first NFL season having played in the AFL since 1960, they are based in Foxborough, Massachusetts and their home ground is called the Gillette Stadium which holds some 65,878 people.

New York Jets – The fourth and final team that plays in the East Division of the American Football Conference  is the New York Jets, who are based over in East Rutherford, New Jersey, they play at the MetLife Stadium and joined the AFL in 2960 and then the NFL in 1970.

AFC North Division

Baltimore Ravens – In the North Division of the AFC you are going to find the Baltimore Ravens playing at it is in Baltimore, Maryland that they are based and play at the ever-welcoming M&T Bank Stadium.

Cincinnati Bengals – The next team in this division is the Cincinnati Bengals and as their name does suggest they are in Cincinnati, Ohio as for the name of their stadium, it is the Paul Brown Stadium in which some 65,515 spectators can be housed,

Cleveland Browns – The third team that you will find in the North Division are the Cleveland Browns, they are of course based over in Cleveland, Ohio and if you do pay a visit to their FirstEnergy Stadium you will not be along as it can hold a total of some 67,895 people.

Pittsburgh Steelers – The only other team in the North Division of the AFC are the Pittsburgh Steelers and they are based over in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and all of their home games are played at the Heinz Field which has a total capacity of some 68,400 fans.

AFC South Division

Houston Texans – The AFC South Division of the NFL does have four team within it like each of the other divisions, and the first team you will come across that do play in that division are the Houston Texans and it is in Houston, Texas and at the NRG Stadium is where every single one of their home games are played out.

Indianapolis Colts -The next team are the Indianapolis Colts and they play in Indianapolis, Indiana at their home ground which is called the Lucas Oil Stadium which can hold up to 67,000 fans.

Jacksonville Jaguars – Next we move onto the Jacksonville Jaguars, they are the third team that play in the NFL’s AFC South Division, and plenty of people do bet on them throughout the NFL season. They are based over in Jacksonville, Florida and the name of their home ground stadium is the TIAA Bank Field which holds 67,814 spectators.

Tennessee Titans –  The only other team in this division are the Tennessee Titans and they do have a large number of fans that make the way over to their Nashville, Tennessee based Nissan Stadium and it was back in 1970 that they played their very first game in the NFL.

AFC West Division

Denver Broncos – I will now be looking at each of the four teams that all play in the AFC West Division, and the first one is the Denver Broncos and they do of course play each of their home matches over in Denver, Colorado, and the name of their huge stadium that holds some 76,125 people is the Broncos Stadium at Mile High.

Kansas City Chiefs – The Kansas City Chiefs will be playing all their home matches in Kansas City, Missouri over at the Arrowhead Stadium, and they are a team that has been involved in the NFL since 1970.

Los Angeles Chargers – As for just where the home ground for the Los Angeles Chargers is based, well that is in Carson, California and the name of their huge stadium is the Dignity Health Sports Park and their very first season in the NFL was way back in 1970.

Oakland Raiders – It is of course over in Oakland, California that the Oakland Raiders play their home games at the Oakland–Alameda County Coliseum       they originally joined the AFL back in 1960 and then played their first season in the NFL in 1970.

National Football Conference

Now you know just which teams play in the American Football Conference, I shall now move onto giving you an insight into the teams that play in the National Football Conference, and they are divided up into four divisions as you will see below.

NFC East Division

NFC North Division

Chicago Bears – There are found teams that play in the NFC North Division of the NFL and the first one I will be introducing you to is the Chicago Bears. That team is based over in the Chicago, Illinois and as for just what name they have chosen for their home ground stadium that is the Soldier Field.

Detroit Lions – You will be able to watch the Detroit Lions who play in the NFC North Division at their Detroit, Michigan home ground which is known as the Ford Field and has been built so that it can house some 65,000 spectators very comfortably.

Green Bay Packers – As for the Green Bay Packers they are the third team in this division, based over in Green Bay, Wisconsin their Lambeau Field is a huge stadium and it is the largest capacity stadium of all teams in the North Division and holds a total of 81,441 people.

Minnesota Vikings – If you haven’t yet worked I tout then the last team in the NFC North Division is the Minnesota Vikings who are based over in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the name of their stadium is the U.S. Bank Stadium and when it is full it holds a whopping 66,860 people.

NFC South Division

Atlanta Falcons – As for the names of the four teams that are based in the NFC South Division of the NFL, they start with the Atlanta Falcons who are based in Atlanta, Georgia and play at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, they played their very first season in the NFL in the year 1966.

Carolina Panthers – The Carolina Panthers are in Charlotte, North Carolina and you will be in awe when you see their huge Bank of America Stadium, and when filled up to capacity and if you do pay it a visit you will be one of up to 75,523 people watching their home games.

New Orleans Saints – It is the New Orleans Saints that are the third team in this division, and they are based in New Orleans, Louisiana, as for just where they play all their home games, well that is in the huge Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers –  The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are the final teams in the NFC South Division, and play each of their home game matches over at their Tampa, Florida based stadium that is known as the Raymond James Stadium and it was back in 1976 that they played their first NFL game.

NFC West Division

Arizona Cardinals – The four following teams all play in the National Football Conference West Division, and the Arizona Cardinals are based over in Glendale, Arizona with their home stadium being the State Farm Stadium which you may be interested to discover holds some 63,400 spectators.

Los Angeles Rams – If you are wondering just where the Los Angeles Rams who are based in Los Angeles, California play all their home games well that is at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and they played their very first NFL match back in 1937.

San Francisco 49ers – You will of course have heard of the San Francisco 49ers, but if not then they are based over in Santa Clara, California and it is their Levi’s Stadium in which they play all of their home games which can hold a total of 68,500 people.

Seattle Seahawks – You have probably already worked out the final team in the NFC West Division is of course the Seattle Seahawks, they are based in Seattle, Washington and each of their home games are played at their very own stadium, that goes by the name of the CenturyLink Field.
